From about 1996 to about 2008, I knew about a dozen people that had one of these cars. They were all either that light beige, dark red, or teal.

This. If it has a clean title, runs, and isn’t 50% rust, it’s a NP. It would make a fine car for commuting, especially for a younger driver.

You’ll soon find that the price of sub $1K cars is not worth the headache. Carry around a couple camshaft hall sensors in the glovebox for that one.
